The motivation for the construction of a desulphurization plant was the fact that no desulphurization had yet been installed at the site of Samstagern. The BEKOM H process and the associated very good desulphurisation performance by other Axpo plants was well known.
The plant was finally put into operation in May 2021. The cabinet was made of PE (UGN) and the system itself made of stainless steel (triptiser stainless steel). This has an air dosing system with control valve, fresh water distribution and automatic condensate discharge with level sensor.
