Service Provider
Project
Location of performance / Site: Achim, Lower Saxony, Germany, Europe
Date: 2017
Description

Task:

  • Avoiding corrosion of structures and eliminating diffuse odour emissions

Pollutants removed:

  • Hydrogen sulphide (H2S),
  • Odorous substances.

UGN® technology employed:

  • L-Jumbo hybrid filter module for exhaust air treatment
  • 2 m³ of UgnCleanPellets® S 1.0 filtering material

Project description:

The pumping station is an underground structure with a free wastewater infeed of about 2500 m³ per day. Due to turbulence in the infeed flow, odorous substances such as hydrogen sulphide are released from the wastewater, causing odour-related nuisance and biogenic corrosion at the structure. The UGN module was installed to prevent odour-related nuisance. The exhaust air is extracted from the system by way of a fan, and purified. In doing this, diffuse emissions from the pumping station are largely eliminated.
